Schools CPR Training for Schools

Schools must prepare employees to respond to medical emergencies involving students, staff members, parents and visitors.

Illinois law requires secondary schools to include CPR and AED instruction in their curriculum using nationally recognized training standards.

CPR and AED preparedness is especially important during athletic events, physical education classes, after-school activities and other situations where sudden cardiac arrest can occur.

Chicago CPR Academy provides on-site CPR, AED and First Aid training for:

  • Public and private schools
  • Charter schools
  • Teachers and administrators
  • Coaches
  • Athletic departments
  • Security personnel
  • Maintenance staff
  • After-school program employees

Training can also be incorporated into a school’s Cardiac Emergency Response Plan, helping staff understand where AEDs are located and what actions should be taken during a cardiac emergency.
